With each new season, the weapons and loot in Fortnite are significantly revamped. This, needless to say, is the most enjoyable aspect of the game for many players—discovering which firearms are most effective in solo play, teaming them in their inventories, and where they might find the rarest items. The weapons in Fortnite for Chapter 6 Season 2 are no exception in that regard.

There is an abundance of new items that align with the season’s heist-themed narrative. It has a bit of Grand Theft Auto, a dash of Fast and Furious, and plenty of new armaments to uncover. Here’s a breakdown of the loot pool in Chapter 6 Season 2, ranging from vault-exploding thermite to the armored vehicle-stopping, earth-digging rocket drill.

The list of new items is extensive this season. Thermite can be used to breach a vault—and in truth, it’s the sole tool for this purpose, although the Plasma Burst Laser can assist in weakening a vault’s defenses before deploying the thermite.

The new Pump & Dump dual-wielding shotguns (arriving in a few weeks with the initial major update of the season) carry a name inspired by crypto-scams. Hence, they perfectly capture this season’s Grand Theft Auto-inspired vibes.

A new mobster-themed melee weapon dubbed The Kneecapper allows you to move quicker, jump higher, and traverse further, quite similarly to last season’s katana.

A Rocket Drill will also be introduced in that first major update, seemingly enabling you to navigate rapidly, likely making it this season’s preferred traversal tool.

For precision shooters, the fresh Falcon Leer Sniper is generally well-regarded, while those seeking something multifunctional can opt for the Collateral Damage Assault Rifle and the Outlaw Shotgun, the latter of which will appear in that aforementioned update within weeks.

In conjunction with the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 battle pass character, Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat, you will also acquire Sub-Zero’s Kombat Kit, granting you a cool poke ability and icy fists—ideal for post-Reboot-Van vengeance served cold, as I would imagine.

Legends have not yet disclosed which weapons from previous seasons—if any—will remain. Recently, it seems the developers prefer to launch primarily with new loot and then gradually reintroduce some fan favorites as the season unfolds. For instance, while you might clearly see a grenade launcher in the season debut trailer, it has yet to be mentioned.

It’s not just about the firearms you carry but also about the gadgets. This season refreshes some classics and introduces some brand-new items.

The Pulse Scanner will allow you to ping enemies—I personally would pick this or similar items whenever I find them—while the Port-A-Shelter will provide players in any mode and Zero Build a quick defensive option against an aggressive enemy, team, or NPC.

For healing items, a never-before-seen Med-Mist Grenade allows you to toss it to your teammates for their recovery. Just no aiming for the face. You will also find Gold Splash, which gives players the Gold Shuffle ability (and 20 health) as discussed in our Chapter 6 Season 2 overview.
