Fortnite OG mode is making strides towards the chaos soon–Season 3 kicks off on March 25, bringing us back to the season that launched way back in February 2018. Although Fortnite OG has seen a slight decline in popularity recently, one of the primary reasons for this is that Fortnite evolved very little during those classic two seasons, so this nostalgic mode didn’t manage to develop much differently either. Season 3, however, marks the point where things began to intensify. The game’s overarching narrative made its initial debut when a massive meteor appeared over the island halfway through the season.
With just a few days remaining until the next round of Fortnite’s nostalgic event begins, let’s take a look at everything everyone knows about Fortnite OG Season 3.
Fortnite OG Season 3 teaser
The developers released a teaser for OG Season 3, featuring an astronaut helmet reflecting the Fortnite island–along with the meteor above it. The TikTok and Instagram variations of the teaser provide the most insight, as they reveal the astronaut adorned in a studded leather jacket. Although there aren’t any skins that resemble those from Season 3, battle pass or otherwise, our Metallica-themed remix of Rust from Chapter 5 Season 3 did make an appearance. Regardless, I doubt that outfit is suited for space travel, but Fortnite isn’t particularly concerned about such details.
Fortnite OG Pass Season 3
The initial two OG passes included three new skins that are remixes of existing designs introduced during the original seasons. Each pass featured two remixes of lighter pass skins and one remix of a shop skin, though it’s important to note that they had to do it this way for those seasons since they didn’t have many skins–the Season 1 shop only had two, and the Season 2 battle pass featured just three knights and the Sparkle Specialist.

In contrast, the Season 3 battle pass featured six skins–Rust Lord, Elite Agent, The Reaper (Fortnite’s version of John Wick), and three astronauts. They could potentially create three distinct skins from that group, but on the shop side, Season 3 did introduce Raven–and the developers enjoy creating new versions of Raven just as much as they enjoy crafting new iterations of Midas.
Fortnite OG Season 3 map
Not much altered between Season 2 and 3, as you’ll be able to notice–the Season 3 map is quite similar to the departing Season 2 island. However, that teaser featuring the meteor may hint that we will start somewhere in the middle. As the conclusion of the season approached, and the meteor made its entrance, small fragments began to drop off and crash onto the island each match, which is precisely the kind of shakeup feature that the OG mode might utilize. Since the developers have generally not implemented many in-season map adjustments within the OG mode, would anyone be disappointed if they didn’t?
