Follow-up stays in trend
We have unfortunate news to share with Hogwarts Legacy enthusiasts, as it was reported today by Bloomberg that the planned DLC expansion for the game has been canceled, along with the Definitive Edition that was under development.
The source claims that “individuals familiar” with the situation attributed this decision to an “ongoing restructuring” at Warner Bros. Games, as well as concerns that “the amount of material was not significant enough to warrant the proposed pricing.”
The expansion, which was supposed to introduce new storylines to the current game, had been scheduled for release this year alongside a “Definitive Edition” featuring all the content.
Not much is known about what might have been included in this Hogwarts Legacy DLC, but some of the storylines apparently could have been salvaged from earlier drafts – centered around a character from the existing game.
Despite this cancellation, it’s reported that the Hogwarts Legacy developer Avalanche Software is still actively working on a sequel as things currently stand, so let’s hope that doesn’t face cancellation as well. Surely they wouldn’t abandon a sequel too, right?!
