We wish we could have experienced more

Today, Insomniac Games has revealed that its esteemed CEO Ted Price is stepping down from the company, after more than 30 years at the forefront. Although Insomniac has often been strongly linked with PlayStation — as Sony currently fully owns the studio — the team did develop an Xbox One classic in 2014 – and Ted Price played a significant role in that occurring.
Needless to say, we’re referring to Sunset Overdrive here – we never miss an opportunity to highlight this game! Indeed, when you cast your thoughts back to before this title was launched, Price assisted in showcasing this game on the Xbox stage at E3 2014. We recall it vividly – it was quite a feat to introduce an Insomniac title on Xbox back then.
Even now, we remain somewhat disappointed that we never saw another major Insomniac title on the platform. The team continued to create PlayStation exclusives like Spider-Man games for Sony, eventually being acquired by the PlayStation parent company. We would have welcomed anything; a sequel to Sunset Overdrive, a spinoff, or an entirely new IP – anything else from Insomniac!
Unfortunately, that just wasn’t in the cards, but we are still grateful that Price approved this game internally before negotiating a publishing deal for it – a move that eventually brought them to Microsoft. A decade later, we still cherish our memories of this title, and Insomniac certainly left its mark on the Xbox One library as a result. We wish you the best in your retirement, Ted!
