Dim and azure, now not white and gold
Recent images appear to depict the left Joy-Con controller for the forthcoming ‘Switch 2’ system, allegedly surfacing from China.
Shared on Reddit by ‘thisSubIsAtrocious‘ and subsequently disseminated across social media platforms, the Joy-Con features the new magnetic rail designed to attach the controller to the main body of the Switch 2. To differentiate the hardware from previous Switch models, it seems predominantly black in hue, while the rail itself exhibits a soft blue shade.
We also catch a glimpse of the new button located at the back of the Joy-Con, which appears to traditionally serve for detachment from the Switch, along with a pair of suitably sized ‘SL’ and ‘SR’ buttons (not unlike the original Switch). The overall design aligns with what we have encountered so far from earlier leaks and speculations (including some impressive online mock-ups), and unless this is a particularly elaborate hoax, it could very well be the final design.
It is merely a matter of time before Nintendo officially unveils its new hardware, and with more photos and information emerging nearly every day, we anticipate an announcement will arrive within just a few days at this rate. Here’s hoping!
