Exciting Revelations: Unique Swap 2’s Improved Joy-Con Technology Unveiled
Another day, another Nintendo Switch 2 rumor – this time regarding images that claim to depict a Joy-Con for Nintendo’s upcoming console.
As Tom reported a short while ago, we’ve had a clear idea of what the Switch 2 might resemble for some time – at least since a prototype console casing and internal components appeared online in late September. However, recent weeks have shown additional images surfacing, this time from accessory manufacturers now accepting pre-orders for Switch 2 accessories, which provide closer insights into Nintendo’s next system with more detail.
We now have brand-new images of what is said to be the next generation of Joy-Con controllers, featuring magnetic Joy-Con attachments and an additional button beneath Home on the right Joy-Con.
Allegedly coming from China, the Joy-Con showcases its new magnetic connection as well as an updated color scheme that sets it apart from current Joy-Cons.
If the images are genuine – and as of now, there is no confirmation – it appears that we might also be looking at larger SL and SR buttons, and potentially even a mouse-like optical sensor. You can check out the images yourself in the X post above or in the subreddit thread embedded below:

If the images turn out to be accurate and actually originate from a Chinese manufacturer responsible for producing the new devices (reportedly, the Joy-Con bears a serial number allegedly verified by Nintendo’s Warranty Verification page), it seems increasingly unlikely that Nintendo will surpass its self-imposed deadline of March 31, 2025 to unveil its Switch successor.
