An uncommon appearance

Here at Pure Xbox headquarters, we have begun to speculate on which video games might make an appearance at a potential Xbox Developer Direct later this month. We understand that the event hasn’t even been officially announced yet – but it is still enjoyable to invest in what could show up if Xbox continues its new approach to January showcases.

We’re beginning to contend that South of Midnight and DOOM: The Dark Ages would likely be certainty for the showcase if it occurs, but what about the rest of the line-up? Might we also see something like Rare’s enigmatic title Everwild finally make a glorious reappearance this month?

As you may notice from the story above, the Xbox studio wrapped up its 2024 with a new image from the game, which has us excited that we might see this title re-emerge in 2025. To be honest, we are still a bit puzzled about what Everwild truly is as a game – so we would appreciate Rare delivering us a proper in-depth exploration of it soon.

Regarding whether the game would actually launch in 2025 if it is showcased at the Developer Direct…who can say? Generally, Microsoft aims to provide a high-level overview of titles planned for the upcoming year at these events, but Avowed was highlighted last year and eventually got pushed to 2025, so it feels like there’s potential for something similar to happen again. At this point, we just want to see another trailer for the Xbox game!

So, what do you think about this? Could Everwild realistically be showcased at Developer Direct ’25? If so, do you believe the game would actually release this year?
