Additional Giant Pocket Items

While the collection of pre-installed games and physical color variations differ across these items, they all share a compact size of less than 5 inches tall and under 1 inch thick, including a 2.8-inch IPS display, a D-pad, four action buttons, four shoulder buttons, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB-C charging port.

Each Giant Pocket model is also compatible with existing Evercade cartridges, including two new cartridges that Blaze Entertainment introduced alongside these upcoming Giant Pocket items. The highlight is The Gremlin Series 2, which contains four 32-bit titles from Gremlin Interactive: Loaded, Re-Loaded, Hogs of War, and Buggy. The second cartridge features five more titles from Data East: Atomic Runner Chelnov, Karnov, Rohga, Vapor Trax, and Windjammers. As an extra, these cartridges come with a full-color manual offering tips and strategies to help you get started—they also include cool collectible items.

Like other Evercade cartridges, the new cartridges are compatible with the Giant Pocket and various Evercade devices, such as the EXP-R, VS-R, and Evercade Alpha. The EXP-R serves as a more advanced handheld console, while the VS-R functions as a home console that connects to your TV via HDMI and supports 1080p graphics. It includes a single wired controller and supports third-party gamepads and Bluetooth controllers with the 8BitDo Wireless USB Adapter for multiplayer capability. As for the Evercade Alpha? Our review found it to be the “best and most versatile home arcade machine” available. Be sure to check them out if you’re seeking a premium way to enjoy retro games on modern displays.
