Embrace Uncertainty: Let Randomness Choose Your Pokémon Legends Z-A Starter!

Last week’s Pokemon Presentation unveiled our initial genuine glimpse at Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and offered an engaging quiz – which starter Pokemon will you choose? If you’re feeling unsure, a pre-release incentive could aid in your decision.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set in the Kalos region from X and Y, yet similar to Legends: Arceus before it, the typical regional starter Pokemon are no longer accessible here. Instead, we now have the Johto starters Totodile and Chikorita, along with the Unova Fire-type, Tepig. Although it’s a curious mixture since two of them share the same game generation, they are still an adorable group to choose from, and as noted by Twitter user @Konafor_, if you’re eager to let fate make your choice, you might also let a plushie pre-release item decide for you.

Pre-orders aren’t available just yet, but when they open, if you order through the official Pokemon Center website, you will receive a random Sitting Cuties plush of either Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile. “Who else is going to use this to determine their starter?” asks Konafor_.

The concept of unboxing your pre-order on release day and discovering the adorable little face of your surprise starter Pokemon looking up at you is truly delightful, and many people are getting on board with this idea. “Oh my goodness, that’s such a fantastic concept! I am genuinely conflicted between Chikorita and Tepig, but I might just let fate decide my starter with this,” one user replies. “Honestly, I was having difficulty deciding which one to pick, and this solved my dilemma,” a different user adds.

Personally, I don’t need a plushie to tell me that Chikorita is the best choice, but the idea itself is fantastic – I would have definitely been tempted to do the same if not for my preference for the line of Grass-type flower dinosaurs. In fact, you could always pre-order from the Pokemon Center just to add a new plushie to your collection – it doesn’t necessarily have to make an essential choice for you in the game, but it’s undoubtedly a fun way to approach it.
