Elysium Chronicles: Step into the Shoes of a New Generation of Heroes
We are eager to learn more about the universe of Exodus, the new narrative RPG developed by some former members of the renowned Mass Effect trilogy team, as it speeds towards its release this year. Unsurprisingly, this sci-fi adventure draws some inspiration from Star Wars.
This information was shared during a recent Q&A session featuring the co-founders of Archetype Entertainment alongside former BioWare leaders James Ohlen and Chad Robertson. The two discussed various aspects of the upcoming game‘s lore, particularly focusing on The Travelers, the group that players will control as they embark on interstellar missions to uncover ancient alien technology.
“You’re going to be part of an organization that ventures out to discover these remnants that can be brought back to aid and transform your world,” Ohlen explains in the video. “That will be the focal point of the IP.”
“There are elements of it that we want to feel elite and somewhat enigmatic,” Robertson adds. “You might draw a little inspiration from the Jedi, but there’s no Jedi council in the game acting as a governing body. They’re more rogue and independent, yet still work together toward a shared goal of preserving humanity. I think that common purpose is a unifying force for them during these interstellar journeys, which significantly impact the timeline in ways that differ from a usual expedition.”
If players manage to acquire that ancient technology, they will need to decide how to utilize it. Regardless of the choices made, there will be consequences that resonate for years and even centuries in the game, affecting both you and your main city hub.
