There was once some exciting news declared during today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Presentation that the GamesRadar+ crew, which has dwindled down to just me in these late hours, is still picking up the pieces that might otherwise be significant, front-page material. One of these announcements that got somewhat overshadowed in the frenzy of Switch 2 updates is Elden Ring: Tarnished, which is essentially Elden Ring for Switch 2.

To give us credit, we did cover the announcement that Elden Ring is joining other major, technically demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade in becoming part of the Nintendo Switch 2 family. However, Bandai Namco also released its own announcement detailing some of the exciting new features coming to Elden Ring: Tarnished, along with the original Elden Ring game on all platforms.

According to the official Bandai Namco website, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Switch 2 will include everything from the original game and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, as well as “new armor, weapons, and customization options for Torrent’s appearance.” Interestingly, the official Japanese FromSoftware Twitter account confirmed that there are four new sets of armor but did not mention any new weapons.

Bandai has also confirmed that all of the new features coming to the Tarnished Edition will be available on other platforms as well, so no one is missing out. What we are lacking, however, is a release date for all these additions. All we know is that it’s set to arrive on Switch 2 sometime in 2025.

It seems you can pre-order the Switch 2 a week early in at least the UK and Germany, as Nintendo begins sending out invite links to eager buyers.
