Introduces multiplayer mod support and additional features

Improvements

All Platforms

Multiplayer Mods

  • Hosts must activate the mod prior to entering the multiplayer menu
  • Players are required to subscribe to the same mod before joining a game
  • We suggest using room codes to connect to modified matches

General

  • Fixed an issue where some red doors did not display as red on the automap
  • Resolved multiple crashes reported by players when loading game saves
  • Enhanced text line wrapping readability for mod descriptions in Asian languages
  • Removed plot prefix from intermission display to align with standard game behavior

Multiplayer

  • Items can now be collected by all players during co-op missions
  • Introduced spectator mode for players who are dead and waiting to respawn in co-op missions (this can also be initiated manually from the scoreboard button)
  • Fixed a bug where disabling the crosshair would also turn off player names and co-op respawn text display
  • There are now more than four player colors available in the game and on leaderboards
  • Fixed an issue where players would lose weapons upon respawning in co-op using new features
  • Resolved a bug where the cross-platform friends menu could not be properly exited when no friends were available
  • Further optimized the multiplayer networking code
  • Addressed crosshair centering issues in certain splitscreen configurations
  • Intermission animations now occur at the correct speed in splitscreen mode

Mods

  • The mod downloader can now display more than the first 100 subscribed mods

Nintendo Switch

  • Mod subscriptions will now function across multiple user profiles

For Mod Creators on PC

  • Mod screenshots containing spaces and other non-alphanumeric characters in their file names will now upload correctly

Mod Compatibility Updates

  • MBF21 instantaneous fracture sectors that were mistakenly causing non-enemy actors to be killed
  • MBF21 instantaneous fracture sectors will now activate immediately when a monster enters them, rather than waiting
  • BOOM and MBF21 effects that fracture monsters will now deal 1 million damage instead of 10,000 damage in order to fix mods that made monsters with high HP values into invulnerable enemies
  • BOOM generic floor actions were not choosing the correct neighbor when determining which sector ceiling or floor height they should connect to
  • Players can now damage and shoot projectiles at their own voodoo dolls (also known as player models/duplicates), to align with the original game
  • ENTERPIC in UMAPINFO is now accurately displayed for the area you are entering rather than the area you just left
  • DeHackEd strings for BOOM keys can now be…
