Ys vs. Trails In The Sky Crossover Fighter Confirms Summer Release Window

The Location of Battle

refint/games has secured a launch timeframe for the forthcoming crossover brawler, Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga on Switch (thanks, Gematsu!).

The 2010 PSP brawler is officially set to debut this summer, and to mark the occasion, we have a fresh trailer highlighting many of the game’s playable fighters, including the English voice cast. Additionally, the game will feature local and online multiplayer, with the latter incorporating rollback netcode.

Studio Pom, the group behind some of Falcom’s promotional artwork for Western releases (and Steam achievement illustrations), has shared the image below along with the announcement of the release window, showcasing Estelle Bright from Trails in the Sky alongside Adol Christin from Ys.

Considering the game is roughly 15 years old as of this writing, most of the playable characters from both the Ys and Trails franchises originate from earlier titles; Trails’ representation is predominantly from the Sky trilogy, with a single exception. Ys, conversely, concentrates on Ys SEVEN characters, plus one from Oath in Felghana.

We feel as if we’ve mentioned this countless times lately, but what a year for Falcom — especially for the Trails series — in the West. Estelle herself will be returning to the Switch this Fall with the remake of her inaugural appearance, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.

Adol’s most recent journey is also receiving an enhanced Switch 2 release in Ys X: Proud Nordics, which has yet to acquire a release date in the West.
