Xbox Game Pass Will Lose Four Games Soon, Including Two Acclaimed Puzzle Titles

A group of four games is departing Xbox Game Pass in mid-October, most prominently two cherished puzzle adventure titles. One of them, Cocoon, received the award for Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2023. Developed by previous Playdead creators, Cocoon immerses you in the journey of a beetle exploring diverse realms encapsulated in orbs, producing distinctive and magical experiences.

Additionally, there’s Donut County, a 2018 creation by Neon White developer Ben Esposito. Centered around a raccoon named BK, Donut County has players directing a hole that expands as it devours more items and individuals—a void spawned by BK’s self-centered actions. This isn’t Donut County’s initial appearance on Game Pass, as it previously exited the service in January 2023 before returning in October 2024.

Also departing is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, a 3D beat-’em-up inspired by the beloved 2023 animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The game was first added to Game Pass just this past May. Lastly, the mining sandbox experience Core Keeper completes the lineup of four games that are departing.

As usual, all of these titles are available at a 20% discount for Game Pass subscribers before their removal from the service on October 15. These games are leaving the service just as Microsoft announced a controversial price increase, raising the expense of Game Pass Ultimate to $30/month. Microsoft also promoted a remarkable 94 games included in the newly revamped Game Pass model.
