Just a few months after Matthew McConaughey showed his eagerness to reprise the character of Rust Cohle, his crime-fighting companion, Woody Harrelson, has made it clear that he would not consider returning to explore if the light is still triumphing as Marty Hart.
During a segment on the 3rd Hour of Today (as reported by Deadline), Harrelson was queried about whether he would join his past co-star back in that realm of Yellow Kings and cyclic timelines, only to give a straightforward reply. “Matthew’s so humorous. To be fair, never. No possibility.” When asked why he opposed the concept, Harrelson appeared apprehensive about ruining such a revolutionary chapter in television history.
“Because it was a fantastic outcome,” Harrelson stated. I cherish how it concluded, and if anything, creating another season would, I believe, diminish that.”
At present, there is absolutely no discussion regarding another installment featuring the weary and worn lawmen that initiated the anthology series. Since then, the show has showcased talents including Rachel McAdams, Colin Farrell, Mahershala Ali, and Jodie Foster, all of whom have had their own cases to solve and challenges to tackle. The latest prominent star rumored to be included in the lineup is Nicolas Cage, who would be the next to take the spotlight in a fifth season and narrate a fresh tale set in New York State.
