But does it capture frames?

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is finally available on Switch. After what seems like an eternity since the 3DS title — remember, it was released in 2014 in North America and Europe, which is a considerable time ago — we are thrilled to see that Level-5 appears to have retained the enchantment.
However, with certain fans worried about Fantasy Life i’s Switch launch following Nintendo Direct presentations and a confirmed multi-platform debut, we are pleased to announce that, up to this point, the game seems fairly reliable. Impressively so.
Our wonderful Felix has been engaging with the game and has recorded some gameplay from the Switch edition to demonstrate just how robust it is. While it may visually fall short compared to alternative platforms, the game operates at a steady 30fps with merely a few minor frame drops.
There is, of course, a Switch 2 rendition coming later this year — which pledges an enhancement in resolution and performance — but if you can hardly wait considering the overwhelmingly positive buzz, know that the Switch variant, at least in the initial hours, is more than dependable.
If you’re curious “hold on, where are the evaluations for Fantasy Life i?”, review codes were distributed quite late, with our sister website Push Square only receiving one Monday. As for Nintendo Switch codes, well, they have yet to be dispatched. But no need to fret, we possess the game and are diligently preparing a review for you as swiftly as we can.
And Fantasy Life isn’t brief; Famitsu indicates that the main narrative can take around 30-40 hours. If you wish to level up additional classes, explore various activities, engage in multiplayer, or lose yourself in the world, it could extend to 100 hours. It might take us some time to reach the credits, but be patient, we’ll share our complete insights as soon as we can.
In the meantime, why not check out the launch trailer? After our video, naturally!
