Unlocking the Future: Nintendo’s Strategy for the Next Generation Switch 2
“We are making arrangements to react as swiftly as possible,” states the company’s president
Nintendo has revealed additional important details regarding its strategy to satisfy consumer demand for Nintendo Switch 2.
In a recent earnings call Q&A, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa informed investors that the preliminary demand will likely be assessed after the Nintendo Direct on April 2, which may provide a “closer insight” into Switch 2.
This will also include insights on its forthcoming hands-on events for consumers for feedback, which commence globally on April 4.
“At this point, we are taking the initiative and continuing with production to fulfill as much demand as possible,” remarked Furukawa. “As was the case with the Switch, we recognize that it will be challenging to quickly scale up production capacity, so drawing from our previous experiences, we are making arrangements to respond as quickly as possible.”
Last July, Furukawa mentioned that the company would combat scalpers by ensuring ample hardware is available for retailers to satisfy consumer demand.
Additionally, during the earnings call, Nintendo’s president discussed how the firm would manage titles for both Switch and Switch 2.
When posed with the question of whether consumers should expect new titles for the Switch or if it would rely on evergreen titles moving forward, Furukawa highlighted 2025’s launch lineup.
