Toast Interactive Streamlines Operations with Workforce Reductions and Office Closure
“We will persist in enhancing Richie’s Plank Experience and Max Mustard with a more streamlined strategy.”
The Australian VR studio Toast Interactive has announced the shutdown of its operations, leading to the majority of its employees being laid off.
In a statement shared on social media, co-founders Toni and Richard Eastes did not elaborate on the reasoning behind this decision.
Nevertheless, earlier in November, ten staff members were dismissed as the studio found it challenging to “maintain a sizable indie team.”
“This is a devastating choice that we never wished to make,” they expressed. “The majority of our skilled employees have experienced layoffs, and we will assist them as best as we can during this transition.”
“We are extremely thankful and proud of everything that the team has achieved. Countless talent and dedication were invested into the development of Max Mustard, and each award is a testament to that.”
The co-founders concluded: “We will persist in enhancing Richie’s Plank Experience and Max Mustard with.”
