It seems we won’t see a new Titanfall game anytime soon, as EA has reportedly canceled yet another title in the exhilarating mech series. However, one indie team has boldly stated, “We’ve created our own.”

Recently, reports emerged that publisher EA has let go of between 300 and 400 employees and halted the development of a new Titanfall game at Respawn Entertainment, which was said to be an extraction shooter, unexpectedly.

In response to the news on social media, indie developer Crytivo remarked, “No new Titanfall? No problem. We made our own,” sharing a stunning clip of a character being lifted and placed inside various larger mechs, reminiscent of Titanfall. To add a whimsical touch, some of these mechs even sport bunny ears!

Crytivo’s mech game is named Autonomica, and it is proving to be a significant Kickstarter success. The crowdfunding initiative has already garnered over $500,000, significantly surpassing its initial goal of $170,000, with nearly 6,000 backers.

While filled with fantastic mechs, Autonomica differs greatly from Titanfall, as it is mainly an open-world survival game that incorporates elements of farming, automation, and simulation.

“Create automated farms, craft complex machinery, and discover islands brimming with enigmas, wraiths, trials, and time-warping adventures,” explains the game’s Steam description. “Venture into the lively world, opt for competitive PvEvP extraction modes, and embark on journeys to the future to challenge other players or pursue Phantoms in thrilling ghost-hunting escapades.” There’s quite a variety on offer.

During a Kickstarter Q&A, Crytivo mentioned that the game will initially launch on PC, though the team “is actively exploring a release for the Nintendo Switch 2,” aiming to make Autonomica available on as many platforms as possible. The release is targeted for sometime in 2026.
