I typically direct everyone I know away from officially authorized micro SD cards, as while they are quite charming, they are also fairly unnecessary. Not only will you never notice the attractive branding once you insert them into your older Nintendo Switch, but these cards often come at a significantly elevated price compared to the basic options.
This week’s Prime Day Nintendo Switch offers have not only finally made one of these branded SD cards worthwhile, but it also happens to be the one I desire the most. At present, you can acquire the impressive 1TB Samsung Pro Plus micro SD Card for just $69.99 at Amazon, saving you $47 from its $119.99 MSRP – and it showcases my favorite, Shadow the Hedgehog.
Admittedly, it is not suitable for the Nintendo Switch 2, so this is essentially a deal for those of you remaining with the older console. However, 1000 GB of storage is a guaranteed method to rejuvenate your aging device and provide ample space for all your beloved Sonic titles.

Should you purchase this Samsung 1TB microSD Card?
Unless you’re searching for one of the top Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards, acquiring this substantial 1TB of storage for your older Nintendo Switch is an excellent choice. Frankly, my OLED Tears of the Kingdom Switch has now been added as decoration to my Zelda display, and I too plan to include this Samsung card in my Amazon cart – and here’s why.
First off, let’s discuss Shadow the Hedgehog. I have been fascinated by that character since playing Sonic Adventure 2 on the
Growing up with Dreamcast, and even though the card merely displays a shadow of his edgy visage, it still appears remarkable.
As I mentioned briefly before, I typically don’t place much importance on these officially licensed microSD cards, since once you insert them into one of the finest gaming handhelds such as the Switch, Steam Deck, or any other compatible device your heart desires, you won’t ever get to appreciate the design again. However, thanks to Prime Day, this Shadow SD card is currently less expensive than the unbranded alternative, which has dropped to $89.99 at Amazon this week.
If you’re an avid Shadow (or Sonic) the Hedgehog enthusiast, and require sufficient extra storage to accommodate your extensive digital Switch game collection accumulated over 8 years, this Prime Day offer is worthwhile. Additionally, it has ample capacity for the 24GB necessary to install Sonic x Shadow Generations along with an immense library of Sonic titles – which is what truly matters.
