The GameSir G8 Plus Galileo Bluetooth Controller for portable gaming on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch devices is discounted at an excellent rate during Walmart Offers and Amazon Prime Sales. Typically $80, the G8 Plus is now just $50 at Walmart and $64 at Amazon. What stands out about the G8 Plus is its compatibility with Nintendo Switch 2, enabling it to be used as an alternate for the Joy-Con 2 in handheld mode.
The G8 Plus functions well on Switch 2 and offers multiple qualities that make it an attractive choice for Switch 2 users: enhanced ergonomics, rear buttons, Hall Effect joysticks, interchangeable components, and a standard D-pad. Additionally, for Marvel enthusiasts, you can enjoy your Switch 2 on-the-go with an officially licensed controller themed around Hulk or Thanos.
Similar to the Backbone Pro, Razer Kishi V3 Pro, and numerous other mobile controllers, the G8 Plus features an extendable cradle for your smartphone, tablet, or Nintendo device. With compatibility for gadgets measuring 8.5 inches or smaller, the G8 Plus is remarkably adaptable. Along with Switch 2, the controller performs excellently on Switch OLED and the original Switch. Aside from your iPhone or Android smartphone, you can also connect an iPad Mini and a variety of small Android tablets.

You can check out the set of Marvel-themed editions below and subsequently learn more about the essential features of the controller.
GameSir G8 Plus Galileo – Amazing Hulk Edition
$70 (previously $100)
The officially authorized Incredible Hulk Edition is currently available for $70 (previously $100) at Walmart. This controller is offered by GameSir and is dispatched from Walmart.
The Hulk Edition showcases a vivid green hue complemented by several touches of purple artistry. Its design is more understated compared to numerous themed controllers, as the artwork was crafted to harmonize with the primary colors.
All five analog sticks and the D-pad correspond to the darker green present on the rear of the controller. The face buttons are purple (A and B) and green (X and Y).
Hulk’s moniker is displayed in violet along the rear, highlighted by his fist.
GameSir G8 Plus Galileo – Thanos Edition
$80 (originally $100)
If you prefer a controller inspired by The Mad Titan, the Thanos Edition is officially endorsed by Marvel and retails for $80 (previously $100) at Walmart. Similar to the Hulk variant, it ships from Walmart and is provided by GameSir.
The Thanos Edition boasts a gold and violet palette. The front…
is highlighted by shiny gold illustrations, and the reverse side is violet with “Thanos” inscribed in large block letters across the center.
The action buttons are violet and gold (two of each), and the D-pad along with triggers correspond with the shiny gold embellishments. It includes one violet stick and four gold sticks.

The G8 Plus features Hall Effect sticks that provide a smooth and accurate experience. Hall Effect sensors are regarded as “anti-drift,” ensuring durability over time. The Joy-Con 2 Controllers utilize ALPS sticks, which some users have begun to report issues with drift.
As previously mentioned, several additional features make it an attractive choice for Switch 2. It includes two remappable rear buttons, one on each side, along with a standard D-pad. The rear buttons can be reassigned either on the controller itself or via GameSir’s mobile application.
Additionally, it contains a 6-axis gyroscope for motion controls and vibration motors on either side. With its more conventional controller shape, the G8 Plus offers superior ergonomics compared to the Joy-Con 2.
The action buttons follow the Xbox Controller layout, meaning A/B and X/Y are swapped. By default, Nintendo consoles will recognize the buttons as labeled, which might perplex some players. However, there are two remedies to this issue. The G8 Plus features hot-swappable action buttons and sticks, enabling users to detach the faceplate, remove the button caps, and alter their positions. If you prefer not to switch them out each time you alternate between mobile and Switch 2 play, you can activate “Switch mode” by pressing the program button (M) and A. In this mode, the Switch acknowledges A/B and X/Y as inverse.

There are a couple of potential drawbacks to keep in mind when utilizing the G8 Plus with the Switch 2. While the grip securely holds the Switch 2 in position, equipped with a rubberized bridge and pads on either side to minimize scratches, it does not connect to the console as the Joy-Con controllers do. When transporting the console, you will likely want to ensure you are holding the Switch 2 itself rather than just the grip. Because of the Switch 2’s dimensions, the edges extend beyond the top and bottom of the grips, leaving them unprotected. You may wish to add a protective shell to the Switch 2 while using the controller. Also, be aware that you will need to remove the Switch 2 from the cradle to dock it.
I frequently use the G8 Plus for gaming on my iPhone. Platform versatility is a significant advantage here. It’s inevitable that manufacturers will develop handheld Switch 2 controllers, yet it’s improbable that many will function with other devices. So, even if you end up acquiring a different controller or adding an ergonomic grip to the console, the G8 Plus doesn’t have to gather dust. You can also utilize it as a wireless controller on Switch 2 (or Switch) when playing on your television.
