This week is exceptionally thrilling for classic RPG enthusiasts, as Square Enix unveils the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake on the Switch, Switch 2, and various other platforms. This revamped bundle is packed not only with the signature HD-2D graphics, but also fresh features, new areas and story elements.

This sequel to the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which is also part of The Erdrick Trilogy, has officially earned a rating of 9/9/8/8 from the quartet of critics, granting the game an aggregate score of 34/40 (Ryokutya2089 via Gematsu). And if you’re curious, the remake of the third installment received 8/9/9/9, summing up to a final rating of 35/40.
Thus, that is Famitsu’s score for Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. If you plan to acquire this game on the Switch or Switch 2, just be aware that there is no upgrade option for this title. The Switch 2 edition is also a Game-Key Card launch.
