A recently removed tweet hints that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero may be headed to the Nintendo Switch 2.
A user on Reddit discovered a tweet from the Saudi authority regulating media that assigned the unannounced port a 12+ classification, which matches the rating it has received for its PC, PS5, and Xbox editions, insinuating that the game would remain largely the same. This tweet has been subsequently removed.
Released in October 2024, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero bypassed the Switch completely, yet the Switch 2 appears to be significantly more robust. It already boasts confirmed ports for major titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring, making it entirely plausible that it could support the 3D fighting game.
On Reddit, users appear unsurprised about the prospective port. One Redditor declares, “Not surprising. Dragon Ball games sell exceptionally well on the Switch.” Another comments, “The most predictable port in the Bamco lineup after Elden Ring.”

Many Dragon Ball enthusiasts reminisced about their experiences with Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 on the Wii during its launch in 2006, expressing hopes that Sparking Zero will follow the series’ legacy of being available right at launch for Nintendo consoles.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero received positive reviews, scoring an 81 on Metacritic, and it became the quickest-selling Dragon Ball console title in the series’ 38-year timeline, moving more than five million units in just four months. As of February 2025, this figure is likely even higher, and could rise further with a potential Switch 2 release.
