Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming film The Odyssey is progressively enhancing its ensemble with notable stars at an alarming pace, with the most intriguing addition being Pearl and X superstar Mia Goth.

According to Variety, Goth is joining the star-studded lineup in an undisclosed role. Goth rose to fame with films such as 2018’s High Life and 2020’s Emma, but at present, she is best recognized as a contemporary scream queen for her portrayal of Maxine Minx in 2022’s X, along with its 2022 prequel Pearl, and its upcoming sequel MaXXXine in 2024.

The Odyssey marks the eagerly awaited next project from Nolan, adapted from the ancient Greek tale by Homer. The illustrious cast already includes Goth, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, Himesh Patel, Samantha Morton, and Benny Safdie. As is typical with Nolan’s films, details about the roles of these actors are likely to remain under wraps until a trailer is released.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, however, sources suggest that Goth’s role may potentially “not require any dialogue,” hinting that she could be portraying a siren, a goddess, or even a statue.

According to Stylish, Nolan’s The Odyssey is described as a “mythic action epic filmed across the globe using state-of-the-art Imax film technology,” with filming set to begin this month on the Island of Favignana, said to be the location where Odysseus and his men took respite during their journey. Variety reported last month that parts of the film will also be shot in Sicily, a key location in the poem.

The film is slated to premiere on July 17, 2026.

Only time will tell if The Odyssey will join the ranks of the finest Christopher Nolan films. Until then, here are all the upcoming films we eagerly anticipate.
