Great news Supes enthusiasts, The Boys season 5 has concluded filming. The unfortunate news is that the clapperboard has clicked for the last time as this marks the concluding season, and no one is experiencing the sentiment more than showrunner Eric Kripke.
After affirming last week’s announcement that The Boys season 5 had completed filming, Kripke took to Twitter to bid an emotional farewell to the series he has been involved with since 2019. “This is the final time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be dismantled shortly. It’s bittersweet, but my main emotion is appreciation,” remarked the showrunner.
Kripke concluded by expressing, “To The Boys family: I cherish you. To the fans: I am eagerly anticipating you witnessing the epic conclusion. That’s a wrap.” We’re not shedding tears, you are. See the complete post below.

Fans are feeling this too, with one responding, “I nearly cried reading this,” and another added, “It’s disheartening to see the final season conclude but I am certain that when season 5 premieres it will be exceptional!”
Besides evoking tears, the post also features an intriguing detail about season 5. Accompanying the message, Kripke shared a photograph of himself on set in Vought Tower, specifically in The Seven’s meeting space. However, above, there’s a mural of Homelander, which is a new addition, as in that same location during season 4, there was a Michelangelo-inspired painting of all members of The Seven.
This suggests that season 5 will delve deeper into Homelander’s era of terror following his significant rise to power in the Oval Office last season. The Boys season 4 concluded with Homelander enacting martial law in the US, placing Supes in command. Meanwhile, Hughie and the Boys tried to escape but were apprehended by Homelander’s wayward Supes, with only Starlight and Butcher managing to evade capture.
Although an official synopsis for season 5 has not yet been revealed, the concluding chapter will likely bring a resolution to the rivalry between Homelander and Butcher. Furthermore, Kripke informed GamesRadar+ at SDCC that there’s “no assurance” that any of the returning cast members will survive the closing season. It appears we are in for a thrilling journey.
