Wow, it’s already November – how did that occur? Regardless, it’s the weekend, so let’s do a brief summary of the week prior to jumping into our gaming experiences, shall we?

Obviously, the most significant news of the week was Nintendo’s declaration that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be returning, featuring both a complimentary update for all users along with a paid Switch 2 Edition in the upcoming year.

Luigi’s Mansion is also now playable on the Switch through an NSO + Expansion Pack subscription, so hopefully some of you have been enjoying this title for Halloween.

Lastly, a series of announcements for Resident Evil Requiem disclosed that a special Pro Controller will be released alongside the game, with a Grace Ashcroft amiibo arriving in Summer 2026. Exciting!

I recently acquired Two Point Museum, and it is genuinely charming. The performance hiccups on Switch 2 are quite noticeable, yet it really has captivated me. I catch myself constantly adjusting small aspects of my museum, embarking on “just one more” expedition to snag another fossil or skeleton for my collection, and simply relaxing to appreciate my efforts. Wonderful stuff.

I’d like to delve into more Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, but I’m considering setting it aside for a brief time until the online concerns are sorted out.

I have friends visiting this weekend, so I anticipate a considerable amount of Mario Party Jamboree, Mario Kart World, and perhaps some Nintendo Switch Sports — what can I say? I’m a fan of a few holes of Golf!

This does imply that the last Mission or two of Pokémon Legends: Z-A will likely need to be put on hold for a couple of days. I’ll complete it soon, I assure you!

I’ll be dividing my time between handling some review tasks and insulating my loft this weekend. Honestly, I wish I were kidding. Therefore, not much time for gaming, really, but I will certainly be relaxing with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter at some point, as I need to return to that before I forget the narrative.

Aside from this, it’ll be quick sessions of BALL x PIT (incredibly addictive, fair warning) and I’m afraid I’ve gone and purchased the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, so hopefully the online issues Ollie mentioned in his review will be resolved down the line. I’m still more than content to have it portable, to be honest, as online isn’t my preferred method to engage with the classic fighting games. Too much stress, mate.

Final Formation has no business being this remarkable. Jaleco’s initial release was a staple in Famiclones back in the day and it continues to be a fantastic unlicensed Macross homage, but this new remake cranks everything up to eleven. On the Hades II front, Prometheus is proving to be a royal nuisance on my journey to the peak of Mount Olympus. Simon the Sorcerer Origins is turning out to be enjoyable, and I’ve reintegrated Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion into my rotation.

UFO 50 report: 45 of 50 games played. What better title to occupy Halloween than Night Manor! But Pilot Quest, Elfazar’s Hat, and Lords of Diskonia are all excellent picks. Only five games left to uncover!

The game of the week is undoubtedly Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. We must be on the right track because as of now, we have the original trilogy in stunning HD-2D. Now, if only Chrono Trigger HD-2D could become a reality…

Well, that’s our plan for this weekend, but what about you? Share your choices in the following poll.

Nintendo Life’s resident horror enthusiast, when not immersed in Resident Evil and Silent Hill lore, Ollie enjoys diving into a thrilling horror book while savoring a lovely cup of tea. He also appreciates long walks and listens to everything from TOOL to Chuck Berry.
