Welcome to the weekend, everyone!

Before diving into our gaming experiences, let’s briefly reflect on this week. Nintendo unveiled its latest financial results, predicting sales of 15 million Switch 2 units in the upcoming fiscal year. They also confirmed their upcoming game lineup, revised their user policy to combat emulation, and appointed a new external director to their board.

In other news, the developer of Palworld, Pocketpair, announced some “unfortunate” modifications to the game due to their legal issues with Nintendo. It was also confirmed that Bam Margera will be part of the latest Tony Hawk game, while accessory maker Genki addressed its own legal challenges with Nintendo.

I’m still enjoying The Hundred Line – Last Defense Academy and finding it incredibly fun. Every element captivates me: the narrative, characters, soundtrack, and the surprising plot developments… It’s truly delightful.

I also have a desire to embark on a brand new journey in Animal Crossing, though I am indecisive about whether to revisit New Horizons or return to New Leaf. Honestly, the thought of crafting is nudging me towards New Leaf right now.

Currently, my mind is consumed by Blue Prince, and I can’t get enough of it. These intricate ‘metroidbrainias’ really have me hooked until I complete them, and I must say, this is one of my top favorites in a long while. I just wish it were available on Switch (Switch 2, please) because being able to play it on the move would be amazing.

Being tethered to the TV means my public transport gaming has resumed, though. I’m now bringing my 3DS along whenever I head out, alternating between Pokémon X and Super Mario 3D Land. Perhaps it’s better that my quirky puzzlers remain non-portable…

I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather lately and am in need of something soothing for the weekend. Unpleasant weather continues to hinder home-improvement projects, so stuck indoors, I’m charging the NSO N64 controller, planning a Banjo gameplay session with the kids in the director’s chair.

In addition, I’ve started Please, Touch the Artwork 2 and need to wrap that up as well. The first game was a remarkable gem that resonated with me, so I had high expectations for this sequel. Stay tuned for my review next week.

By the time you read this, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Chapter 12 will be completed. Veteran players from the Wii U era will recognize that this was the original game’s conclusion; no spoilers here, but the fact I’m still mulling it over a decade later says a lot. So this weekend will focus on Post-chapter Affinity Missions, the new Chapter 13, and a mysterious continent to explore. This is going to be exciting!

If I finish that, my next mission will be a gear hunt. If the names Telethia the Endbringer and Pharsis the Everqueen sound familiar, rest assured I’ve never defeated them in the original game. I’d like to change that before the Switch 2 launches. Time will reveal all…

And lastly, I have a completely different game to try: Rusty Rabbit! My Japanese physical copy arrived just in time for some gameplay this weekend after it was recommended by the NL team during last month’s eShop Selects voting.

I’m completely engrossed in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and it has me captivated. If this comes to Switch 2, I’ll definitely purchase it again. So, my Switch is resting a bit, except for evenings when I cozy up with basketball and Citizen Sleeper 2, another fantastic title.

Summer is upon us here in the States, and gardening calls, but with the Switch 2 on the horizon, I’m assessing what I can clear from my backlog. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown? Trails through Daybreak II? Perhaps something brief and enjoyable like TOEM? We’ll see!

That’s our weekend gaming agenda, but what about yours? Share with us in the poll below which games you’re excited to play over the next few days.
