Together with an upcoming complimentary update
- by Jim Norman
Nintendo has revealed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will debut alongside a complimentary Ver. 3.0 update on 15th January.
The Switch 2 Edition features a variety of new elements to maximize the capabilities of the new console. It incorporates Mouse Mode for enhanced home arrangement and outfit customization, a Megaphone tool to call your Villagers’ names, upgraded visuals and frame rates, as well as Camera and GameChat functionalities, among other enhancements.
Individuals already in possession of the Switch 1 version (which includes… everyone) can transition to the Switch 2 Edition by acquiring an Upgrade Pack for $4.99. If you happen to be one of the few who haven’t experienced it on the older console, you can also obtain the Switch 2 Edition (digital or physical) for $64.99.
Here are some images to showcase it in action:
The complimentary update, on the other hand, is particularly substantial. Ver. 3.0 introduces a new resort hotel operated by Kapp’n and his family for you to personalize as you wish, expanded home storage (from 5,000 items enhanced to 9,000!), Sonny Resetti arrives to offer a clean-up service, a dream ‘Slumber Island’ for you to restart and modify with your friends, additional amiibo features, and collaborations with nostalgic Nintendo, LEGO, Zelda, and Splatoon.
Phew… we could use a moment to catch our breath after that! Also, BULK CRAFTING!!!!!
We still have a bit longer to wait before both the update and Switch 2 Edition officially arrive, but goodness, are we eager!
