Sumo Community Sells Publishing Rights for Secret Mode in a Confidential Deal

Sumo Community has transferred its publishing business, Secret Mode, for an undisclosed amount to Emona Capital and the current management team, Ed Blincoe and James Schall.

While Emona Capital—an investment firm with “extensive knowledge in the gaming sector”—already manages a portfolio that includes Relic Leisure and Amber Studio, Secret Mode represents its inaugural investment in game publishing.

Secret Mode will reportedly continue operating as an autonomous publisher, focusing on supporting indie games for PC and console platforms. The current management team, Blincoe and Schall, “has the full support of Emona and will continue to lead the company as it embarks on its next chapter.”

“Secret Mode is intensely passionate about the creativity and innovation found within the indie sector, and we are excited to collaborate with Emona Capital in order to devote ourselves fully to the independent publishing landscape,” Blincoe remarked.
