If you’re an admirer of Hayao Miyazaki and the iconic director’s animated works at Studio Ghibli, you should explore the affordable Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-rays. There’s a good chance your beloved Ghibli film is on discount as well, with several titles from the studio priced at $19 or less on Amazon. One of the most attractive elements of the Studio Ghibli Steelbook collection is their consistent design theme, allowing them to complement each other beautifully, no matter how you display the vibrant cases.
Note: While most links lead to Amazon, there are a few offers from Walmart available as well due to Amazon’s unavailability of certain Studio Ghibli titles.
Currently, the most affordable Studio Ghibli Steelbook is Ponyo at $16. This cherished 2008 fantasy feature was crafted by Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki. It held the title of Ghibli’s highest-grossing film in North America until The Boy and the Heron claimed the spot last year. Notably, The Boy and the Heron is the sole Ghibli film available on 4K Blu-ray. Its 4K Limited Edition Steelbook is now reduced from $45 to $30.
Studio Ghibli films on Blu-ray – Limited Edition Steelbooks
A selection of Studio Ghibli classics have been transformed into comics throughout the years. Until last year, numerous standalone volumes of the Film Comics were hard to find as they were out of print. Viz Media’s new All-in-One Editions have revitalized the Film Comics as cost-effective hardcover editions. Film Comic adaptations of Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Kiki’s Delivery Service are now accessible. Each publication features still images from the films, accompanied by text narrating the entire story in a distinct format.
Spirited Away’s anthology stands out as the largest among the offerings at 856 pages, thus priced five dollars more than the others—but it’s currently available for just $26 on Amazon. Meanwhile, Kiki’s Delivery Service is presently the least expensive, with Amazon offering the 584-page edition for just $20. The All-in-One Edition of Ponyo’s Film Comic is up for preorder at $30 prior to its publication on July 22.
