Starfield quietly celebrates its second birthday tomorrow—did anyone even mark the calendar? Bethesda Italy did, and a fresh clip on its Instagram has sleuths convinced a clandestine hint about another expansion is tucked inside.

In the reel, nothing appears except the title’s emblem plus a simple greeting: “Happy Anniversary.” Yet the dark backdrop flickers, peeling away to unveil an amber layer carrying extra text. Stitch those flashes together and you get: “Terran Armada.”

Reddit threads are buzzing, treating the phrase as a breadcrumb toward the next add-on. Plenty yearn for fresh vessels, and “armada” certainly nods in that direction. Given that dogfights already pepper the Settled Systems, a full-on overhaul could be on the cards.

The tease’s timing also mirrors last year’s debut of Shattered Space, which touched down September 30, 2024. By that calendar, the next payload should be inbound any moment.

Word on the street is the follow-up chapter will be dubbed Starborn. A citizen delivered aboard a fleet of starships would indeed qualify as starborn, so the two leaks can coexist. Then again, gossip can miss the mark, or the flickering clue could belong to a completely separate venture—right now it’s all guesswork.

One certainty: Starfield faces stiff rivalry, as No Man’s Sky’s newest patch is hotter than a supernova. Players can now assemble the cruiser of their wildest dreams—and Hello Games boss Sean Murray’s worst nightmares.
