Following a teaser earlier this week, Star Wars: Zero Company was officially unveiled at Star Wars Celebration Japan on Saturday. The cinematic trailer presented the primary ensemble of Zero Company: a squad of covert operatives that players will command in this turn-based strategy game. Developed by Bit Reactor in partnership with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars: Zero Company is set to release for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.

Taking place during the end of the Clone Wars, players will assume the role of former Republic officer Hawks, who leads a diverse group of specialists behind enemy lines. Among the characters featured are a Clonetrooper, a Jedi Knight, and a Mandalorian, all of which are unique characters designed specifically for the game. Bit Reactor reveals that players will engage in a series of tactical missions and investigations in Zero Company, allowing them to create a base of operations and collect intelligence via their network of informants between missions.

Customization seems to play a significant role in the game, as players can modify both the appearance and combat class of the character Hawks, while also tailoring recruited operatives from an expansive array of original Star Wars character classes and species. For the allies that Hawks commands, Bit Reactor describes these companions as “Authored Characters,” with whom players can interact and build strong relationships. This engagement will, in turn, unlock combat synergies capable of altering the course of battles.

“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay-design principles that seamlessly integrate the immersive Star Wars universe with captivating turn-based strategy gameplay,” stated Greg Foertsch, the creative director of Bit Reactor, in a press release. “We aim to present a game with a novel Star Wars narrative from the Clone Wars period that impacts player choices, alongside profound turn-based tactical combat presented in an accessible and cinematic style.”

Star Wars Zero Company is among the many Star Wars titles currently under development. Developer Quantic Dream, known for Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, announced Star Wars: Eclipse back in 2021, Respawn is creating a third installment of Star Wars Jedi, and Skydance New Media is also crafting a mysterious Star Wars game.
