Star Wars: Starfighter actress Mia Goth has hinted at her character in the forthcoming film, and it appears to be a fresh challenge for the performer, who is primarily recognized for her scream queen roles in slasher and horror films.
“It’s incredibly intense, but I absolutely adore it. I’m being challenged in a manner that I’ve never experienced prior,” Goth expressed in a recent discussion with Elle. “This is an entirely distinct film, not a prequel. It stands on its own, featuring new characters. And it boasts an excellent script, a truly fantastic script.”
Information regarding her character remains under wraps, but it’s believed she will portray the film’s antagonist. The plot details are still unknown, though it has been confirmed that the film will take place five years after 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. Directed by Deadpool and Wolverine’s Shawn Levy, the cast additionally features Ryan Gosling, Matt Smith, and Amy Adams.
“It’s likely shaped my perception of what a movie actually was,” Gosling stated about the film at Star Wars Celebration 2025. “Putting all that aside, the fact is that this script is simply outstanding. It has such a compelling narrative with remarkable and original characters, it is filled with immense heart and adventure, and there truly is no better director for this particular tale than Shawn.”
Regarding Goth, she is also set to feature in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, which premieres in theaters this week and on Netflix next month, along with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which will grace screens next year.
