The title is set to launch on Switch 2 this June
Josef Fares and Hazelight’s newest cooperative action-adventure Split Fiction is slated for release on the Switch 2 this June, and to add to the excitement, Variety has reported that Sydney Sweeney has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation.
While Sweeney’s specific character remains unconfirmed, sources from Variety indicate she may portray either Zoe or Mio. Jon M. Chu (Wicked) is reportedly at the helm as director, with the screenplay being crafted by the team behind Deadpool & Wolverine.
Information regarding the Split Fiction movie first surfaced in March of this year. It is being produced by Story Kitchen, a company already recognized for adapting “video games to the screen” with projects such as the Sonic films. Story Kitchen is also associated with the movie adaptation of It Takes Two – inspired by Hazelight’s acclaimed “Game of the Year” title that premiered on Switch in 2022.
This most recent news about the Split Fiction movie follows the announcement earlier this week that Sydney Sweeney will also “produce” a film based on Sega’s OutRun franchise.
