Finally, Sega has announced that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition debuts on 4th December 2025 for $69.99, perfectly aligned for the holiday season (via Gematsu).
Keep in mind that a physical edition, featuring the complete game on the cartridge, will be released in early 2026.
If you have previously acquired the game on Switch 1, you can buy an upgrade pack for $10 (or your local equivalent) — plus if you obtain that pack before 10th December, you’ll receive a 50% reduction. It’ll be $5, then.
If you’re picking up the game on Switch 2 before 17th December, you’ll also receive the Werehog Pack DLC as a complimentary extra.
Initially released on Switch back in September, Sonic Racing CrossWorld has already surpassed 1 million units sold and continues to receive regular updates featuring guest characters. Just today, Like A Dragon’s very own Ichiban Kasuga has joined the lineup.
Our review of the Switch 1 edition, crafted by our own Mitch Vogel, was filled with acclaim for the kart racing gameplay but remarked that the performance on the older console was “disheartening”. The Switch 2 version should remedy those concerns, then…
