It appears we might be witnessing Black Panther 3 quite soon. Ryan Coogler, the filmmaker of the previous two Black Panther installments, mentions a return to Wakanda is his subsequent project, yet there’s no clear indication of when we could expect it.
He spoke about the MCU entry during an on-stage discussion at Contenders Film: Los Angeles, led by Deadline. “If it were anyone else, I would say, ‘I cannot confirm or deny.’ But we are diligently working on it,” he replied when asked about a Black Panther sequel. “Indeed, it’s the next film.”

There’s been no word regarding the status of the project otherwise, and Coogler has kept his agenda busy. He contributed to the creation of Disney Plus series Eyes of Wakanda and Ironheart, in addition to scripting and directing Sinners, an original horror featuring vampires set in the southern U.S. during the early 1930s, starring regular collaborator Michael B. Jordan.
His choice of the phrase “next movie” is also significant, as he’s been developing his reboot of The X-Files since concluding work on Sinners. Details remain undisclosed regarding that, but we might receive updates soon if Black Panther 3 is progressing. Avengers: Doomsday is set to debut next year, followed by Secret Wars the subsequent year, and the MCU’s distribution schedule waits for no one.
