Silent Hill f presents numerous eerie visuals and sounds, and it’s evident that even the performer who voiced and captured the motion of main character Hinako is not spared from its terrors.
On the official Silent Hill f YouTube channel, you can view approximately 90 minutes of Hinako performer Konatsu Kato nervously traversing the game’s opening, flinching in fear at some of the disturbing visuals, and exhaling frustrated sighs after facing defeat in combat. Some of her facial reactions are genuinely invaluable, even if I feel a bit guilty deriving so much joy from her unease. Nevertheless, here are some of my favorites:
You can view the complete stream below. Naturally, it’s in Japanese, but the machine-generated captions offer some likely inaccurate yet still amusing complements to what you’re observing on screen. My preferred moment from the entire stream occurs around the 55:30 mark, when Kato examines a bloodied mask and shrinks back in horror, before flipping it around, seeing the face, and recoiling further back in utter repulsion.

“No, no, no, I don’t wish to do anything. What is this? What? What? What?” she yells. Immediately following that is a pursuit scene where a visibly terrified Kato appears on the verge of surrender, uttering, “I can’t handle this any longer,” “How much longer must I endure this?” and, when confronted by her chaser, “stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, wait a moment, stop.”
Alright, this is beginning to seem rather unkind, so I’m concluding here. That being said, I will definitely return for the subsequent video. This one is titled Silent Hill f #1, so it’s reasonable to presume Kato intends to continue streaming more of the game, unless this apparently harrowing encounter has discouraged her permanently. Let’s hope not.
