Neo City presented in new preview
- by Alana Hagues
We have yet another fresh trailer from Sega and Lizardcube of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, the anticipated new 2D action platformer in the extensive Shinobi franchise.
Today, we are getting a glimpse of Neo City, a vibrant industrial metropolis where peril hides in the darkness; this is the second environment we have encountered after Oboro Village, which was released on the official Sega channel last week (and in Asia back in April).
The latest trailer truly offers us another opportunity to appreciate those stunning hand-drawn graphics and animations from Lizardcube, and we are awestruck every time we view them.
In addition, you’ll witness some rope sliding, seamless transitions from kunai to sword action, treacherous platforming and grapple-hook techniques, as well as wall climbing.
The developers, a studio based in Paris who contributed to Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap and Streets of Rage 4, released a sort of “behind-the-scenes” video of the new Shinobi just a few days ago, demonstrating how the studio brings that beautiful art style to life.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will be available on Switch on 29th August 2025. Are you planning to acquire this title? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
