Version 1.0.4 is arriving shortly

Update #2 []: Sega has revealed an additional update for the Switch 2 launch title Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S. This patch will tackle some online matchmaking concerns and rectify certain bugs. Here’s the complete overview regarding Version 1.0.4:

Update #1 []:

Sega has already demonstrated substantial support for the Switch 2 with titles such as Sonic and Yakuza, and its backing for the launch title Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S persists. While the game was initially in an admirable condition upon release, the company has been rolling out several minor updates for it.

Following the USB camera resolution in the prior update, which you can find in the original article below, Version 1.0.3 has officially gone live. It seemingly addresses more bugs, with the official details noting that “various improvements” have been implemented. Sega also indicates that replay data from earlier versions of the game will no longer be accessible in this edition.

Once again, if you haven’t experienced this game on the Switch 2, make sure to check out our review. It received six out of ten stars. It’s a “fairly decent” experience, even if the Switch 2 enhancements are admittedly minimal at best.

Original Story: One of the numerous Sega titles launched alongside the Switch 2 was Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S.

Although it arguably didn’t present much for returning players, a new camera functionality allowed you to overlay your face during gameplay. It appears there were some visibility problems with “certain” USB cameras, but this has now been rectified in the latest update.

Alongside this fix, several other updates have resolved various issues. Here’s the complete rundown:

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S – Ver. 1.0.2 (27th June 2025)

  • Rectifies video display issues that could impact certain USB cameras.
  • Addresses matchmaking concerns that could arise during promotion battles.
  • Additional minor corrections.

And in case you overlooked it, yes – you can utilize standard USB cameras with your Switch 2 to enjoy certain features in select titles. The game also offers Joy-Con 2 mouse compatibility.

As for our sentiments on Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, we rated it six out of ten. While it’s a “fairly decent game” the Switch 2 enhancements are minimal at best, and there’s no upgrade avenue like certain other third-party releases.
