Scott Pilgrim enthusiasts will no longer require a Netflix subscription to view the franchise’s exceptional animated series. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is set to debut on Blu-ray December 2, with pre-orders currently available for $25 at Amazon and $28 at Walmart. Numerous Netflix originals do not receive physical copies, so it’s refreshing to see Scott Pilgrim Takes Off join a minority of exceptions that feature other animated successes like Castlevania, Arcane, and Sonic Prime.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off: The Complete Limited Series (Blu-ray)
$25 | Releases December 2
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off: The Complete Limited Series encompasses all eight installments of the animated series on a single Blu-ray disc. Each segment runs for just under 30 minutes, totaling 3 hours and 37 minutes.
Scott Pilgrim aficionados will be pleased to learn that the Blu-ray edition features audio commentaries for every episode by co-creators Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski.
The animated series presents a different narrative compared to O’Malley’s original graphic novels and the live-action film adaptation. Scott Pilgrim disappears in the inaugural episode, while the remainder of the series chronicles Ramona Flowers’ quest to uncover his whereabouts.
The prominent cast from the film returned for their roles in the series, including Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Satya Bhabha as Matt Patel, and Aubrey Plaza as Kim Pine.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off garnered widespread praise from critics and longstanding admirers upon its launch as a Netflix original series in November 2023.
If you wish to relive Scott Pilgrim vs. The World prior to your preorder coming, you can snag the 4K Blu-ray variant of the cherished 2010 film for just $16.36 (previously $25) on Amazon. Standard Blu-ray and DVD versions are even more affordable. Helmed by Edgar Wright, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is celebrated for its comic book-inspired cinematography and visual effects. Unfortunately, the film wasn’t a success at the box office, but the franchise has attracted a committed following. Without unwavering fan backing, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off would likely not have materialized. The same applies to the 2021 re-release of the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World beat-’em-up video game, which had originally been delisted back in 2014.
Scott Pilgrim Graphic Novel Offers

If you haven’t explored Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series, there are various physical formats to select from. The original black-and-white series spanned from 2004-2010 and was later reimagined in full color from 2012-2015. Last year, the publisher Oni Press launched remarkable Scott Pilgrim 20th Anniversary Box Sets that compile the complete series in hardcover. These box sets come in unique clamshell display cases along with O’Malley’s “Making of Scott Pilgrim” comics collection, and a variety of collectibles, such as holographic prints, posters, stickers, and more. The 20th Anniversary Black-and-White Box Set is priced at only $76.78 (formerly $250) on Amazon. Alternatively, you can obtain the Precious Little Slipcase Collection, which includes paperback versions of all six black-and-white volumes, for $57 (previously $90).
The 20th Anniversary Color Box Set has been reduced to $150 (previously $250), but we have previously spotted it for approximately $100. Each of the six Color Editions can be bought separately in hardcover for $21 or less. Paperback collections containing two volumes each are available for $30, however, regrettably one of the third and concluding compendium in the Color Collection is out of stock.
