By This year has been remarkably prosperous for indie games on Steam, even following Hollow Knight: Silksong‘s huge success. Just last week, Escape From Duckov surprisingly briefly surpassed Battlefield 6. Now, yet another indie title, RV There Yet, has soared past 1.3 million sales within just one week.
RV There Yet marks the inaugural release of Nuggets Entertainment, where up to four participants can engage in this cooperative journey while they take control of an RV as they navigate a dangerous detour through Mabutts Valley. The objective of the game is to maneuver the RV past barriers that would typically be insurmountable. To achieve this, players must exit the RV and cleverly utilize a winch along with other implements to overcome challenges. As illustrated in the trailer above, some attempts can result in disastrous outcomes. This group of friends also encounters wildlife and snakes, which is why an EpiPen is among their essential tools.
Per SteamDB, RV There Yet recorded over 100,000 simultaneous players during its debut week. Nuggets Entertainment’s community manager Jace Varlet later shared a video in which he expresses gratitude to players on behalf of the team. He also clarifies why the game was not labeled as “early access.”
In summary, Nuggets Entertainment did not foresee this title achieving such success and the studio merely aimed to complete the game by their agreed-upon release date. Originally, there were no plans to introduce additional content to RV There Yet, but that could soon change. Meanwhile, Varlet admitted that there are some glitches in the game and he assured that these issues will be addressed.
Currently, there are no immediate intentions for RV There Yet to transition to consoles, but it is presently available at a discount on Steam for $7.19 before reverting to its standard price of $8 on October 28. Nuggets is also concurrently working on another title named Among the Wild, but it is not yet ready for launch.
