YouTuber Nate the Hate has asserted that a Nintendo Direct is expected to occur later this month.
In his most recent podcast episode, Nate mentions that a Direct will be scheduled after Donkey Kong Bananza launches on 17th July 2025. He further emphasizes that he lacks any additional details, such as exact dates, times, and potential content.
Nevertheless, he conjectures that a Direct may occur in the final week of July, hypothesizing that Nintendo would intend to introduce a new showcase just prior to its three-month earnings announcement on Friday, 1st August 2025.
Here’s what he expressed:
“What I have been informed… There is a Direct this month, specifically in July. However, that Direct will not happen until after Donkey Kong Bananza is released. Beyond this, I possess no further information, including specific timings currently.”
“If I were to guess, I would say likely the last week of July since Friday of that week falls on August 1st, right? That is Nintendo’s earnings report date. So I can envision them hosting a Direct that week leading up to that investor report.”
Nate has shown reliability in the past, having accurately predicted the exact date of the Switch 2 announcement trailer’s release. Still, it’s prudent to approach this with caution. It’s a relatively safe estimate considering that Nintendo frequently unveils announcements and Directs around the time of their earnings reports.
Furthermore, we must remember that a new Pokémon Presents showcase is arriving on 22nd July. It wouldn’t be entirely surprising for Nintendo to follow up with a proper Direct soon after this date, but it certainly adds an extra layer to consider.
The most significant uncertainty we currently face is the release timeline for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The game is set to debut this year, but no specifics have been disclosed as of this writing. We are also eager to discover when Kirby Air Riders will be launched.
