Nintendo and Lego have already ventured into the Mario Kart franchise with a few official sets, but to be honest, we are not particularly excited by the results thus far. It feels somewhat devoid of that signature Nintendo creativity, right?
Thus, we were absolutely thrilled to discover this impressive Lego Mario Kart concept – crafted by user Bbeethoven99 – on Reddit, which employs a conveyor belt system to replicate the feeling of movement. Essentially, the rainbow track soundtrack loops around the conveyor belt, while the kart in the center moves left and right in accordance with the steering wheel at the front.

This concept reminds us of how the NES Lego set functions, where the Super Mario Bros. stage rotates through a crank mechanism, with Mario himself hanging from the left side. However, keep in mind that the idea showcased here is significantly more intricate, with the creator asserting that the primary mechanism visible at the bottom right of the build is used to power it up.
Unfortunately, since you cannot submit new ideas to the ‘Lego Ideas’ initiative if it pertains to an existing license, it is highly improbable that we will see something similar officially. What a pity – we would gladly part with our hard-earned cash for something like this.
