Game-makers frequently bemoan the gap between the quantity of players who hit “Wishlist” and those who ultimately tap “Purchase” after launch. One of the creators behind Revenge of the Savage Planet has added his voice, saying the studio could pour even more into its cosmic follow-up if every wishlister upgraded to a paying customer.
In an interview with GamesRadar+, Raccoon Logic co-founder and creative lead Alex Hutchinson stated the group “would really enjoy continuing development.” The cooperative successor to Journey to the Savage Planet landed earlier this past summer to warm applause—by most yardsticks it’s thriving, yet the figures still trail what those towering Wishlist counts implied.
“We’ve got ambitious follow-ups mapped out,” Hutchinson added. “If the folks who already flagged the game actually converted within the next thirty days, you’d definitely see extra content… We have to observe real momentum there.”
A Steam trial arriving Monday, August 18 is meant to nudge more gamers over the fence, bolstered by an upcoming photo mode and additional polish. The crew is at least crossing its fingers you’ll decide the product of “four years of work from thirty developers” equals “the price of a couple cappuccinos.”
Speaking elsewhere about life on the savage planet, Hutchinson revealed he aimed for tightly packed spaces rather than sprawling emptiness. “The goal was that a player never walks more than a moment without spotting a toy to tinker with,” he noted earlier. “When you wrap up one curiosity and glance around, two more should already be beckoning.”
