The inaugural special-edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller has been unveiled, and it’s an unexpected one. Nintendo is launching a limited-edition Pro Controller inspired by Resident Evil Requiem, the forthcoming primary installment in Capcom’s survival horror franchise. The Resident Evil Requiem Edition Pro Controller is available to preorder for $100 at Best Buy and the Nintendo Store. It will be released alongside the game on February 27, 2026.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller – Resident Evil Requiem
The Resident Evil Requiem Edition of the official Switch 2 Pro Controller shares the same jet black hue as the regular variant. Its distinction lies in the frontal faceplate, which features a fictional newspaper excerpt from Raccoon City.
You will observe the phrase “Resident Evil” displayed at the top of the controller, while “Requiem” is positioned directly underneath. Snippets from articles featured in the newspaper, along with images of the grim circumstances on the ground, are also presented. It’s a rather impressive design, even though it may appear somewhat subdued due to the absence of contrasting shades.
The Resident Evil Requiem Edition is priced at $10 above the standard Switch 2 Pro Controller, which is a fairly typical price increase for a themed first-party gamepad.
Owners of the Switch 2 can place advance orders for two distinct physical collections of Requiem, both of which are limited editions and retail for $90. The Resident Evil Generation Pack includes Requiem, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, and Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition. Nintendo will also launch a Switch 2 Amiibo for Requiem’s protagonist Grace Ashcroft. The appearance and price of the figure remain unknown, but Street Fighter 6 Amiibo are priced at $40, suggesting that a similar price point for the Grace Ashcroft Amiibo is likely. Regrettably, the Amiibo will not be available at launch, as it currently has an ambiguous release timeline set for Summer 2026.
