Raidou Remastered Switch 2 Preorders Are Now Available

One of Megami Tensei’s lesser-known subseries is making a comeback with Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army,
arriving on Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 19. This title is a remaster of the action-RPG Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, which first debuted on PlayStation 2 in 2006. The updated edition boasts enhanced visuals and revamped gameplay, making it a fantastic way to enjoy one of the most distinctive Megami Tensei spin-offs. It is also one of the inaugural titles releasing on the new Switch 2. Although Raidou Remastered – The Enigma of the Soulless Army omits the Shin Megami Tensei and Devil Summoner titles from its name, the game remains set within the series’ universe. It centers on Raidou Kuzonoha—who enthusiasts may recall from his roles in other MegaTen titles such as Shin Megami Tensei III and Soul Hackers—an apprentice occult investigator and Devil Summoner who teams up with demons to unravel various enigmas in 1930s Tokyo and the enigmatic Dark Realm.

Distinct from other titles in the MegaTen lineup, Raidou Remastered is an action RPG that showcases real-time combat, allowing players to combine attacks as Raidou while harnessing the abilities of over 120 demons available for recruitment. Interestingly, the remaster adapts the combat system from the sequel of the original game, Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon—though this sequel is not part of the remaster. In addition to the updated combat mechanics, the remaster introduces enhanced visuals, new voice talent, a redesigned interface, larger environments, and a multitude of quality-of-life improvements.
