Clear River Games has confirmed that R-Type Delta: HD Boosted will touch down on the Switch in the West on 20th November 2025—the very same day it lands in Japan.
Produced by City Connection Co. Ltd, the title is receiving a cartridge alongside the customary eShop option, arriving a full 27 years after its 1998 PlayStation debut.
Performance-wise, the Switch edition keeps a steady 60fps, grants instant flipping between revamped HD graphics and the classic look, and serves up a freshly arranged score. Several difficulty levels wait to be fine-tuned for your perfect play-through.

“In the year 2163, humanity celebrated victory over the Bydo Empire and rested the R9 in a fortress above Earth. The respite evaporated in 2164 when strange objects rained down, electronic weaponry spiraled out of control, and the ‘annihilation unit’ stored beside the R9 exploded into chaos, descending to Earth and wreaking havoc. To regain control, the prototype “R9 Delta” is launched—plunging us into another brutal clash with the Bydo.”
