The third installment in the so-called modern DOOM trilogy, DOOM: The Dark Ages has been available for a little over a week now, and we’re eager to hear what you think about this fierce shield-based shooter.
id Software’s most recent release received solid reviews before its debut, with critics lauding its characteristically impactful gunplay and gratifying pace. Nevertheless, The Dark Ages appears to have sparked some debate among DOOM fans.
We’ve observed numerous direct comparisons to its predecessor, DOOM Eternal, with some gamers asserting it represents a regression. Therefore, we are very curious to see what rating The Dark Ages receives from the community here on Push Square.
For what it’s worth, we truly appreciated this one. In our DOOM: The Dark Ages PS5 review, we concluded: “When The Dark Ages hits the FPS action, few do it better than id Software. Take a moment to acclimate, and you’ll uncover another wonderfully intense first-person shooter.” A commendable 8/10.
