Galaxy 2 has already reached the pinnacle of the eShop rankings

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 debuted for the Switch this week, and we now possess some eShop ranking information, disclosing which entry is the most favored thus far.

Perhaps, it’s not surprising that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is leading – presently occupying the very top of Nintendo’s digital store ranking in the US, while the original Super Mario Galaxy title holds third position on the list in this same area, trailing the recent launch Hades II. If you look back at Switch acquisitions in general, on the same platform, it appears that the Galaxy bundle remains the most sought-after choice.

In the UK and Japan, the scenario is currently alike in regard to the individual releases – with Super Mario Galaxy 2 in first place and the original game in third position.

Bear in mind, this analysis encompasses just three regions, and the standings of these titles alongside the bundle might differ in other areas around the world. The original Super Mario Galaxy title was also previously highlighted in Super Mario 3D All-Stars, so many Switch enthusiasts already revisited it back in 2020.

This situation has made us curious – did you opt for a physical version, or did you choose the download option or a combination of both? Make sure to participate in our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.

And if you haven’t yet perused (or viewed) our Nintendo Life assessment, don’t forget to take a look. This new edition also includes some upgrades and additional features on the Switch 2, such as enhanced resolution and amiibo compatibility.
