Let’s head out, Tokyo!

Well, here’s a little something to brighten your day. The Pokémon Company has revealed another glimpse of its forthcoming theme park, ‘PokéPark Kanto’, and confirmed that the gates will open on 5th February 2026.
Tickets for this new segment of Tokyo’s Yomiuriland Amusement Park will be available for Japanese citizens on 21st November and will be allocated through a lottery system. Currently, there’s no update on how those of us residing in other nations can secure tickets, but the official English reservation website is presently displaying a “Coming Soon” notification, so stay tuned for announcements in the upcoming months.
So, what exactly is this PokéPark? This permanent outdoor Pokémon adventure — surprisingly, the first of its kind — is split into two sections: the Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town.
As the title suggests, the forest zone will be your opportunity to witness Pokémon ‘in their natural environment’. Alright, it’s essentially a collection of sculptures scattered throughout a nature walk, but you can anticipate numerous photo opportunities with characters like Pikachu, Eevee, and Nidoran.
Sedge Town is more of a retail space, featuring a Pokémon Center and Poké Mart where you can pop in for merchandise, attractions such as the ‘Pika Pika Paradise’ and ‘Vee Vee Voyage’, along with the ‘Sedge Gym’ exhibition area.
It certainly appears quite delightful, if you ask us. If you find yourself in Tokyo next February, you’ll know it’s worth a visit.
